Kirkcowan Station
The station remains at Kirkcowan photographed from the realigned road that now runs through the former station site. Just west of Newton Stewart, on 31 May 2007. The road once crossed the station site on a bridge. Since closure of the line in the 1960s the bridge has also been closed and the road now runs straight across the old trackbed. Immediately below n image of the way the station looked in 1895. At the bottom of this page you can see some pictures of the site as it is in 2015, a private dwelling house.
