Castle Douglas Station was the terminus of the Dumfries to Castle Douglas line, forming the first part of the Port Road travelling west, immediately below you can view a satellite view of the line as it would have been when operational. This was the point at which Dumfries to Portpatrick became single line, below you can see a gallery of pictures showing what can still be seen today
